I’ve been using this program called Pidgin on Ubuntu for some time now and just this week I found that they had a Windows version also. Maybe they have had that for a while, I dont’ know, never really looked. But I found it this week, installed it at work (where we use Sametime) and I am using it for everything now.
I like the sleek interface and the fact that it actually works with IRC. Trillian was kinda hit-or-miss with IRC, and the connection to Sametime with Trillian was an additional plugin that you had to install (and needed admin rights to if it is a work machine) so it made it more cumbersome to get Sametime working. Not so with Pidgin, it is just another account-type connection like AIM or Yahoo. And Pidgin includes GoogleTalk also, which Trillian didn’t connect to unless you went through a Jabber server.
So go check out Pidgin, it is a sweet little program.

So, what is the best free spyware removal software out there? Microsoft, without question, has one of the best free programs and it’s called Windows Defender and Microsoft has put a lot of effort into making this the number program on the net!
There is also Spy Bot search and destroy which has a very large following, and it does a great job at spyware removal, but like most software companies, they don’t stand much of chance at competing with the Giant.
So, if you’re looking for free spyware removal software, check out Windows Defender or Spy Bot search and destroy. Both are free and do a great job at detecting and eliminating spyware.
